Pain in the neck
Posted By SLK on Friday, July 9, 2010
Not that I am particularly keen on housework (especially during weekdays and definitely not close to Friday!) but I somehow managed to sprain my neck yesterday. When I mentioned this to Kit Kat last evening, I was given the ultimate massage therapy – Kit got me 3 of her doll blankets. She made me lie down on the sofa (actually she threw me down!) and then my neck was covered in one blanket, torso in one and the legs in another (were the blankets small or mummy huge?) After that my neck was massaged with tiny fingertips like fluttering butterflies…mixed with occasional kisses. I was even offered a book for a pillow – perfect!

Later, Kat offered to rub an ointment for me and I casually remarked “Thanks Kat but medicine is too strong. Papa can do it for me when he comes back home.”

Both Kat and I knew I was referring to the smell (like you walk down the street and everyone knows you have it on!) but Kit being Kit said: “I can do it! You mean it’s strong, very heavy? I can do it for you mummy.”

When Kat and I couldn’t control our giggles at Kit’s innocence, she too joined in…happy to have made us happy!

Don't ruin my life

Kit wants to wear a Princess Aurora costume and the babysitter is trying to explain to her that it is dirty and also not fit for wearing to the park as the sprinklers will mess it up with water.

On my way to the kitchen for a quick snack, I see Kit with her head in her hands saying:

“You are ruining my life! Now what will I do?”

Perfect pronunciation and said with total ease. When I went in and asked her what it meant, she said “it means she’s not letting me wear my princess dress!” – Very cheeky indeed!

Kit Kat are eagerly waiting for their favourite cousin (little older than Kat) to visit them in a weeks time. He is going to have a baby sister in Aug this year.

Kat remarks in her dramatic sad tone (put on to perfection) : “ Poor boy, I must warn him - his days as the only child are going to be over soon…”

Kat looks at Kit who is busy ripping pages out of a diary that Kat just gave her this morning. Kat says “See what I mean mummy?”

Kit (without thinking): “Why?” (This is one word that Kit uses a million times in a given day. We encouraged this to sharpen her mind but now I sense her doing this to wind us all up!)

I leave the room...

Bye Bye Goldfish

First thing Kit says on being told to look after her goldfish. "What will happen if I don't look after it properly? Will it run away?"

I just wish goldfish could run away. We have a history of goldfish coming and going and then comes the rotten cleaning part... fish running away is so much simpler than having to net them out and scaring Kat! Kit is fine with it. Day 5 now and she comes in every now and then asking "Is it die yet?"
Don't blame her - started with 6 fish in 2 bowls and are down to 1 fish now! This one seems like a die hard actually...

Bye Bye Goldfish

Teach a Lesson
Posted By SLK on Sunday, June 13, 2010
Typical fight scenario - dolls have been mixed up and Kit has quietly sneaked into Kat's room and 'shared' some dolly clothes without Kat's permission which is different from 'stealing'. Kat is furious with the 'Restricted Zone' sign up on the door. Kit is angrily waiting outside and when asked says : "I am nignoring (ignoring) Kat and will teach her a lesson when she comes out!"
Has Kit been spending too much time with me lately??
