Hernia is a condition when a loop of the intestine
bulges out through a weak spot in the abdomen. Hernia
appears as a swelling in your son's groin or scrotum. In
very young babies, there may be a bulge around the navel
which could be an indication of hernia. The bulge of hernia
is painless and disappears when your son lies down and it
may get bigger on coughing or sneezing. In most cases, the
hernia disappears by the time your son is a year old but in
some cases, the doctor may recommend an operation to repair
the hernia.
