All children in the UK are vaccinated against tetanus as
part of the immunisation program.
Tetanus germs are found in the soil and can enter the body
through a cut, burn or even if you fall on the ground and
graze yourself. It is important to keep your tetanus
vaccinations up to date as tetanus can be fatal, if not
treated promptly. It is a painful disease that affects the
muscles and can even cause breathing complications.
