A very modern and fairly new procedure, fetoscopy
involves extraction of umbilical cord and placental samples
to check for certain skin and blood disorders that cannot
be detected by amniocentesis.
This can be carried out after 16 weeks of pregnancy and
carries a 3-5% risk of miscarriage.
